Job Summary:

Join Penske and utilize your expertise in diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing motor truck and trailer equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work independently with little supervision, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our vehicle maintenance operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance services on various levels for motor truck and trailer equipment.
  • Identify and document warrantable repairs, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Conduct road tests as needed to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functionality.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, including welding equipment, diagnostic tools, and pneumatic wrenches, to perform repairs and adjustments.
  • Inspect and adjust brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components.
  • Specialize in troubleshooting and repairing major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks efficiently and effectively under the guidance of a supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in tractor-trailer maintenance.
  • Possession of a respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T.
  • Valid driver's license class D or class 3 with air brake certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficiency in using all tools of the trade, including welding equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Basic computer skills required for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Specialized training and experience in diagnosing major components preferred.
  • High level of commitment to job responsibilities and safety protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
